Unlike some other reproductions of classic texts (1) We have not used OCR(Optical Character Recognition), as this leads to bad quality books with introduced typos. (2) In books where there are images such as portraits, maps, sketches etc We have endeavoured to keep the quality of these images, so they represent accurately the original artefact. Although occasionally there may be certain imperfections with these old texts, we feel they deserve to be made available for future generations to enjoy.

My Great Aunt Lucy was the editor of this book, but my review is based on the book itself. The book is a compilation of the oral accounts of early settlers of Minnesota. The stories of painted Sioux and Chippewa, children growing up on the prairie, Bishop Whipple, dances, gossip, log booms bursting, and the squeaking wheels of the Red river valley carts make fascinating reading. You will read about people named Dayton, Jackson, Faribault, Sibley, and many names that are still well known in Minnesota. You can get this as an ebook for free or order it in the hardcover which includes the fold out map inside.

Old Rail Fence Corners The A B C of Minnesota History HardPress 9781318871605 Books Reviews
great
Much of content is very interesting. Shifting contexts create confusion and questions. Valuable tool for historians.
It was free and I thought I would read it and delete it, but it was great. There were a lot of things mentioned here that I had never read before. This is a collection of very short stories told by the settlers themselves. It made the country and their daily lives just come alive. I actually want to read it again using a map to chart out all the traveling they did. This makes our lives look very easy compared to how hardy our ancestors had to be. All I can say is I'm glad the rattlesnakes are gone, good job settlers!
